Trinidad and Tobago is the most southerly of the chain of islands that extend from the South of Florida to the Coast of the South American mainland.
Our twin island nation is under a single democratically elected government. The islands cover an area of 44 by 42 miles (71 by 68 km), encompassing a wide variety of ecosystems such as mountainous tropical rain forests, man-made dams, grassland savannah, swamps and coastal belts. It is therefore an ideal location for the water sport enthusiast.
The multi-ethnic population of approximately 1.4 million represents all major religions. Our people are renowned for their hospitality, and Trinidad and Tobago is the home of the world-famous carnival, calypso and steelband. |
