One thousand sets of these commemorative cards have been produced, and are now available at the Main Library, UWI St. Augustine and the UWI Bookshop for TT$100.00 or US$20. Each set comprises six postcards in a vacuum-sealed envelope. The postcards feature an Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture (ICTA) Banana plantation, the St Augustine House (Office of the Campus Principal), the Administration Building, a 1962 Carlisle Chang painting of the St Augustine Campus and a collage on the history of the UWI.

These University Libraries are expert providers of unique Caribbean information to the global community and are regarded as one of the cornerstones of the University. Committed to the use of current technology to support teaching and research, the University Libraries marry traditional and print and electronic resources, providing local and remote access to a diverse clientele. As guardians of the documentary heritage of the region, they own 100 special collections of unique Caribbean information resources, some of which are of global importance. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) have inscribed the C.L.R. From humble beginnings in 1948, with 33 students from across the Caribbean entering the fledgling University College in Jamaica, UWI has evolved into the region’s flagship institution of higher learning, today with approximately 40,000 students in more than 15 Caribbean countries. UWI Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. Nigel Harris, is now coordinating UWI staff, students and alumni to organise region-wide signature 60th Anniversary events. The Anniversary Celebrations were launched with a formal Opening Ceremony on Saturday 12th January, 2008 at UWI Cave Hill, Barbados. On July 12th to 19th, 2008, the UWI Mona Campus hosted a special Convocation Week, which included an official reception hosted by UWI Chancellor, Sir George Alleyne, and a formal banquet to be attended by several regional heads of state. As the culmination of the yearlong celebrations, a gala black-tie dinner will be hosted by UWI St. Augustine Campus on December 12th, 2008. Proceeds from all UWI 60th Anniversary initiatives will be channelled into a special UWI Regional Endowment Fund, which will facilitate infrastructural projects across the region.
