Dawn-Marie De-Four Gill
Editor-in-Chief

Editor-in-Chief
Editor of The Pelican Mrs. Dawn-Marie De Four-Gill heads the Marketing & Communications functions for both the four campus University (as a whole) and the St. Augustine Campus.

It was shortly after her appointment as University Director of Marketing & Communications in 2005 that Dawn-Marie engineered a plan to bring Vice Chancellor E. Nigel Harris’ vision for a University Magazine to fruition. Dawn, together with her Marketing & Communications Officer, Rhonda masterminded the creative brief which was later fine-tuned and adopted by the Editorial team as the framework for this modern publication.

Dawn-Marie started her career at The University of the West Indies in 1997 as a Research Assistant to the Pro Vice Chancellor of Planning & Development at the St. Augustine Campus, and moved on to Business Officer, and later, Campus Director of Marketing and Communications, a post which she holds dually with her duties as University Director. Dawn has over 7 years of publication experience. She has been the editor-of-chief for the St. Augustine Campus’ Annual & Faculty Reports, Prospectuses and other recruitment and marketing materials, since 1999.

This former honours student of The University of the West Indies holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management with a major in Marketing and a Minor in Finance, as well as a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) degree with distinction from City University Business School in the UK.

Since March 2006 Rhonda has served as the Manager for University Marketing and Communications. Former incarnations of Rhonda include Research Assistant, Marketing & Communications Assistant, Marketing and Communications Officer and Publications Coordinator (all manifestations working at the UWI St. Augustine Campus).

Rhonda, who is the author of the award-winning Undergraduate Prospectus - Experience UWI, is particularly experienced in publication design, and well-appointed to direct the Pelican’s production process.

She is a first-class honours graduate of The University of the West Indies in Management Studies (Marketing Specialisation), and also holds a Masters degree with distinction in Public Communication & Public Relations from the University of Westminster, UK.
